Saskatoon Berries Are Ripening in Northern Michigan!
POSTED IN For Consumers ON 7/1/2013
On the farms of several of our members the saskatoon berries are ripening. Local conditions and available varieties may result in some variation of the timing. The picture above shows nearly ripe fruit clearly. The red berries are slightly premature, being slightly harder and tasting more tart than the deep blue berries, which are somewhat hidden in this photo, but can be found with careful inspection of plants.
